Meet My Family

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

The Smith Family at the Outer Banks.

My husband and I were born and raised in Northern Kentucky and moved to Ohio when we got married in 1993.  We have lived in the West Clermont School District for the past 21 years. We have four children; Luke (19 years old), Ashley (17 years old), Tyler (15 years old), and Joel (15years old).  Joel and Tyler are not twins.  Greg and I adopted Tyler and Ashley in 2009.   All four of my children attend West Clermont Schools.  Luke just graduated from Amelia High School and will be attending the Aspire Academy at Glen Este High School. Ashley will be a Senior this year, and Tyler and Joel are in 10th grade.  Greg and I will be celebrating our 21st Wedding Anniversary this December.   This past year, Greg's parents who are both in their 80's moved into our house.  So now, I am a proud member of a family of eight!  My parents live close too.  Since my mom was just diagnosed last year with Breast Cancer, and my father suffered a stroke over the summer break, I have been spending a lot of my free time over at their house.

My family loves to do things together.  We love  volunteering at the Autism Family Resource Center, watching UK College Basketball, playing board games on our Friday Family Game Nights, playing cards (Double Euchre is our favorite),  and going on family vacations.

I come from a big family.  I am the second youngest of 7 children.  I have 4 sisters, and two brothers. My mom and dad did not have the opportunity to have higher education, so they made it their goal to teach us to value education and see that it is a very powerful tool that can be used to help us achieve our dreams. Their dedication to our education made a big impact on each of our lives.  Three of my sisters are Registered Nurses, one sister is a Biologist, and my brother who served as an Electrician in the US Navy is now an electrician working for the Railroad in Chicago. (My other brother passed away of SIDS before I was born.)   I value Education so much that I have dedicated the past 18 years of my life to teach others.  I am so honored to be part of your child’s education. I am excited that their journey for lifelong learning starts right here in my classroom. I promise to do my best to instill in your child the love of learning so they too can reach their dreams.

I look forward to working with you and your child this year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Julia Ann Smith
